Buenos
Aires was once a very congestion free city. In late 1970s toll
freeways were opened, which provided fast access other cities of Argentina. With its modernization the city's traffic started to grow and today it is considered as a major city of Argentina
The transport system of Buenos Aires is Excellent. The city is well connected by all major modes of transport.
Buenos Aires Airports:
- Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE): Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE) is located at around 35 Km, Southwest of
the city.
- Aeroparque Jorge Newbery Airport: The Aeroparque Jorge Newbery Airport is located in the Palermo neighborhood next to the riverbank.This airport is mainly meant for domestic traffic.
Buenos Aires Railway Transportation:
Buenos
Aires is considered as a major railway hub of Argentina. The three principal stations located in the city are:
- Retiro: This station is located at Avenue Libertador and consists of three suburban lines namely, Bartolome Mitre, Manuel Belgrano & San Martin.
- Constitucion: This railway station is situated at Avenue Caseros & Lima. The trains from this terminal are mainly headed south and to suburban Buenos Aires.
- Once: The trains from this terminal are mainly headed west.
- Federico Lacroze: This is a major station of the suburban line General
Urquiza. The terminal links Chacarita neighborhood with many suburban towens.
Local Transportation of Buenos Aires:

Buenos
Aires has a very well developed transport system. The major modes of transport in the city includes:
- Buses: The Buses in the city are also known as "Colectivos". The city has around 144 bus routes. Buses serve as a major mode of transport in the city.
The "Diferencial" buses costs almost double and has less stops.
- Metro or Subway: The metro system in the city is known as el subte. The mero system of the city is around 46 Km long and has around 80 stations and five lines
identified with letters A, B, C, D & E.
- Boats/Ferries: Ferries provide fast and convenient access to Uruguay. The ferries also connect Buenos Aires to cities like Colonia and Montevideo too like Buquebus, Cacciola S.A & Ferrytur.
- Taxis: Taxis are another major mode of transportation in the city. Traffic Jams are common in Buenos Aires, therefore taxi is not recommended for long distance travelling.
