Brisbane being the capital of Queensland, has a world class transportation network within the city. The city is also very well connected to other cities of Australia and also to overseas destinations. Bus, rail,
and ferry services are the major modes of public transport in Brisbane. The Central
Station (Gare Centrale) of the city is located at rue de la Gauchetiere
West. The other major station is Windsor station used by local commuter
trains.
Brisbane Airports:
Brisbane International Airport airport is located 13 Km (8 miles)
northeast of the city (travel time 35 minutes) and the domestic
terminal is at a distance of 2 Km from the city.
All major international airlines from Europe, Asia, and New Zealand, including Qantas, Air New Zealand,
Singapore Airlines, Thai International, Malaysia Airlines, and Cathay
Pacific, fly into the Brisbane international airport.
Brisbane Railway Transportation:
QR Traveltrain runs services four times a week to and from Cairns,
via Townsville and Rockhampton. The two main train stations in Brisbane are Roma Street Station and Central Station on Ann Street.
Local Transportation of Brisbane:
TransLink operates the bus,
rail and ferry and City CATs (short for catamarans) network in the city of Brisbane.
NightLink buses, trains and flat fare taxi services also operate late on Fridays
and Saturdays to destinations across Brisbane.
