Transportation & Reach
Vienna has a well-developed public transport network. Buses, trains, trams and underground lines will take you almost anywhere in the city in no time at all. Vienna, like many major European cities, has an excellent public-transportation system. Moreover, taking public transportation into the city is less stressful than dealing with many Vienna's one-way streets, traffic, oncoming trams, pedestrian areas and expensive parking places, especially for newcomers.

Vienna Airport:
Buses and trains take about 20 min. to go to and from Vienna International Airport (VIA). Buses operate three routes every half an hour. Trains to the airport include the Schnellbahn 7 between Wien Nord, via Wien Mitte, and VIA. However it is cheaper to take an airport taxi (Flughafen Taxi), such as "Airport service Mazur" or "C & K Airport Service" than a normal city cab because airport taxis charge flat rates.

Vienna Railway Transportation:
Vienna has a number of train stations like:

• Wien Franz-Josefs-Bahnhof, the starting point of the Franz Josef Railway.
  
• Wien Westbahnhof, starting point of the Western Railway.
• Wien Südbahnhof (Former South and East Station) for the Southern Railway and the Eastern Railway.
  
• Wien Hütteldorf on the Western Railway.
• Wien Heiligenstadt on the Franz Josef Railway.
  
• Wien Praterstern (Formerly known as Wien Nord or Wien Nord-Praterstern) on the Northern Railway.
• Wien Meidling (Philadelphiabrücke) on the Southern Railway. This is Vienna's most frequented transit station.
  
• Wien Mitte (Landstraße) on the S-Bahn Stammstrecke ("main line") is the nearest railway station to the centre of Vienna.

Local Transportation of Vienna:
Vienna is located at the junction of National Highway that connects it to all parts of the country with good roads. The city's well-maintained bus terminus serves both private and state operated bus services.
