Big market for Energy-saving and Environmental Protection Building Materials in China

Residential construction area in China has reached to 30billion m2, 95% of which do not belong to energy-saving buildings. Mr. Qiu Baoxing, Vice Minister of Ministry of Construction, P.R.C. once said: reconstruction of the buildings was an important step to carry out buildings’ energy-saving and to build a resource preservation and environment-friendly society.

So far, China has become the largest construction site, about half of the buildings completed every year in the world stood on the land of China. Taking into consideration of the building areas completed each year and the energy consumption level, the civilian building areas will increase 30 billion m2 till 2020 in China, when the demand of resource for energy consumption of buildings will exceed the supply in a large scale. Now, laws and regulations in this field has come into being, to the year 2010, solid clay bricks will no longer be used in residential buildings in China’s cities and towns. In this respect, newly-built and rebuilt of a large quantity of energy-saving and environmental protection building materials enterprises is in the critical need of the country.
