History & Evolution
Site-Seeing
Though is drove mostly by commerce and trade, the city still the
cultural center. It may not be rich in many tourist sites but it boasts
some of the best galleries and museums in the country. Further, it has
by far the best cuisine and some of the best nightlife of Brazil.
Festivals, Carnivals, Conventions and Expositions are the other
activities that lure large number of visitors to Sao Paulo.
Museu de Arte
The museum is large concrete building supported on delicate pillars. It
not only features the work of the great European artists from the last
500 years, but also hosts visiting exhibitions. Housing large and
important collection of Western art, the museum opens every day where
the entry is free on Thursdays.
The complex of the museum also includes a reasonably priced restaurant.

The Edificio Italia:
The landmark of the city, Italia is 165 m high building considered the
second tallest in Sao Paulo. Inaugurated in 1965, Italia today has
become one of state capitals major tourist attractions with 19
elevators, 6000 m2 of glass and capacity for 10 thousand people.
The building is also famous for its traditional restaurant; Terraco
Italia located on the top floor. It is a revolving restaurant providing
3600 views of the city and offers one of the most comprehensive wine
lists.
This fabulous 46-story building also has a theatre, an art gallery and
the old Circolo Italiano Club. The building was conceived by the Italian
colony in Sao Paulo.

Ibirapuera Park (Parque do Ibirapuera):
Ibirapuera is the major urban park of Sao Paulo with large area for
leisure, jogging and walking. Comparable to the Central Park in New York
City, it also possesses a convention center.
Inaugurated in 1954 and covering an area of almost 2 km2, the park
complex contains several buildings, museums and pavillions. Some of them
are the Grande Marquise (the great marquee), the Cicillo Matarazzo
Sobrinho Pavillion, the Manoel da Nobrega Pavillion, the Lucas Nogueira
Garcez Pavillion, the Armando de Arruda Pereira Pavillion, Municipal
Data Processing Company and much more.

Catedral da Se:
Built in modified Gothic style, Catedral da Se is the largest cathedral
Sao Paulo with length 111 m, width 46 m, towers 92 m high, a dome 30 m
high and capacity for 8,000 people. Moreover, more than 800 tons of rare
marble is used in its completion.
The cathedral owns the largest Organ in Latin America having 5
keyboards, 329 stops, 120 registers and 12,000 pipes.
