Transportation & Reach
The city of Chengdu is the hub of transportation and communication in the whole China. Chengdu's transportation network is well developed, and it is the start of many national highways, with major routes going from Sichuan-Shanxi, Sichuan-Tibet, and Sichuan-Yunnan. Chengdu also has a good public transportation system that enables the locals as well as the tourist to move around and within the city easily. You can avail any public transport for the purpose of getting around Chengdu. The city is connected by four expressways namely Chenglin Expressway, extensions of Guanghua Avenue, Shawan Line, and an expressway from Chengdu to Heilongtan.

Chengdu Airport:
Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is the fifth busiest and the sixth largest airport in mainland China, after Beijing Capital, Shanghai Pudong, Shanghai Hongqiao, Guangzhou Baiyun and Shenzhen Bao'an. The government is also planning to build an airport in Jintang County of Chengdu. The major airlines that are connected with the CSI airport are SilkAir, Thai Airways International, Philippine Airlines, Angkor Airways, Asiana Airlines and Royal Dutch Airlines

Local Transportation of Chengdu:
Chengdu is located at the junction of National Highway that connects it to all parts of the country with good roads. The city's well-maintained bus terminus serves both private and state operated bus services.

Bus: A single bus ride, whatever be the length of distance costs 1¥ or 2¥. You need to pay the fare if you want to change buses since there are no transfer tickets. There are frequent bus services but the buses often change their routes. Chengdu has two major bus stations. From Xinnanmen bus station the buses go to all the destinations in and around Sichuan excepting the north. The buses which goes to the north departs from the Ximen bus station in the northwest of the city.

Taxi: Traveling by taxis is cheaper than any other means of transport. The city's taxis are safe and comfortable means of transport.
