Commonwealth Games
Truly unique in the world of sport, the Commonwealth Games is
pedestaled firmly on its historical association with Commonwealth
countries. It is not based solely on topographical features like
the Asian, Pan American and African Games, nor is it centered on
climatic surroundings such as Winter Olympics atmosphere. This is
the reason as to why the Commonwealth Games has also been fondly
known as the Friendly Games.
What makes it so exclusive is the use of
English as the language commonly spoken by all athletes and
officials, unlike the Olympics; hence creating a wonderful and
harmonious. It is held after every four years and comprises of
only the cream of athletes of Commonwealth Nations and is a
transnational and multi-sporting event. This prestigious and
world-class competition is slated to be conducted this year at
India's capital city, New Delhi. The next edition will take place
effectively in 2014 at Glasgow in Scotland.

Games 2010 New Delhi
For the first time in its history, India will be acting as the
proud host of the 2010 Commonwealth Games and it is for the second
time that the event is being conducted in Asia (the previous venue
was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 1998). As one of the most awaited
sporting event of the year, this will be the 19th edition of the
event. Commonwealth Games is a premier multiple-sporting event
which will provide one of a kind unique opportunity for India to
portray itself as a strong, cultural & sporting country and
economic power. It will feature 17 sports, namely archery,
athletics, aquatics, badminton, boxing, cycling, gymnastics,
hockey, lawn bowls, netball, rugby 7's, shooting, squash, tennis
table, tennis, weightlifting and wrestling. The Commonwealth Games
2010 is slated to be inaugurated at the renowned Jawaharlal Nehru
Stadium in New Delhi. The spirit of the approaching 2010
Commonwealth Games can be felt in the entire nation as hearty
preparations for this prestigious sporting event take place.
Commonwealth Business Club India
Commonwealth Business Club India's main purpose lies in bringing
together important business delegations to India from abroad
during the Commonwealth Games 2010. It will also give them an
opportunity for securing business deals as well as enjoying the
Games to the fullest. The unification of a national sports body
(OC CWG 2010 Delhi) and a national business chamber, Federation of
Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) will prove to
be effective in popularizing the sports culture. It will also
undertake initiatives to increase sponsorships for sports and for
promoting India as an ideal business partner.
