Overview
Mumbai, or as it is still frequently referred to, Bombay, is the Capital city of Maharashtra. Mumbai is the headquarter of countries’ Stock Exchange and is an affluent Industrialized city. It is also referred as ‘The Financial Capital of India’.

Its international seaport and natural harbor flourishes its Shipping Industries while making it a prominent commercial base for many multinational companies. Navy headquarters, important offices of Army, Air Force, Coast Guard and offshore oilfield ‘Bombay High’ makes Mumbai a city of strategic importance. This busy and crowded city is also India’s answer to Hollywood, producing largest number of films in the world each year.

Over the years, the city may have transformed itself into an unique cosmopolitan and trendy entity but its heart is still drenched in timeless art, culture and heritage and this contrasting nature of the city makes it a famous art-exhibition center of the world. One thing that brings this ever-moving city to halt is its heavy rainfall during June-August.
