India Construction & Interiors Week (IC & IW)

India Construction & Interiors Week (IC & IW) will take place from 13th to 15th February 2009 at India Expo Centre – Expo XXI, Greater Noida. The organizers also announced the regional edition of India Construction & Interiors Week (IC & IW) will be held in Chennai from 25th to 27th September 2009, as an answer to the growing demand for quality products required in large scale construction and building projects being executed in the southern part of the country.

The events have established themselves as the most professionally run Construction and Interiors exhibitions in India bringing a comprehensive range of products, equipment, services and technologies from across the world to meet the sourcing requirements of high value buyers. The new section Intelligent Skins India focused on building facades, automation and fenestration saw representation of products from various countries and generated big interest amongst architects, builders, contractors and hoteliers. With India gearing up for the Common Wealth Games in 2010 huge expenditure on development of infrastructure is taking place in Delhi & NCR region. The events were perfectly timed with investors on the look out for the latest products and technologies to develop state-of-the-art facilities. ICON and III have always been important platform for companies to establish contacts with architects, interior design professionals, other specifiers and to do business with leading builders, developers, contractors and distribution intermediaries.

The exhibition was sponsored by Parryware ROCA and also showcased the latest products from ROCA, TATA Bluescope Steel, LG, Geze, Cardin Elettronica, Beninca, Somfy, Camira, Stanley Boutique, Greenply, Evavo, Kitchen world, India Gypsum, Eicher and many more on display. An estimated US$ 64.75 million worth of business was transacted during the exhibition. The design professionals and architects attending the exhibition got an unparalleled networking opportunity by attending the Annual Day Conference of the Institute of Indian Interior Designers (IIID) which was held at the show on 26th April and benefited from interactions and presentations by internationally renowned interior designers and architects from Thailand (Ms. Sutana Mokkhavesa), South Africa (Mr. Yusuf Patel) and Iran (Mr. Behrooz Pakdaman). Some of the best names in the field of interior design and architecture were present at the event. The exhibition also played host to the first ever Design Competition for Seating Systems – BEST FIVE, with leading interior designers competing with their design entries. The professionals attending the exhibition also got the opportunity to learn from interactions and presentations by internationally renowned structural engineers at the seminar by the Indian Association of Structural Engineers (IAStructE) on 27th April. On the back of this huge success Expomedia Events India, the Organisers, announced that the 5th Edition of Interiors International India (III), the 5th Edition of India International Construction & Contracting (ICON) and the 2nd Edition of Intelligent Skins India (ISI) will be a part of a bigger, better and more diversified exhibition “India Construction & Interiors Week (IC & IW)” from 2009 onwards. The larger event will also have added to it two new dedicated sections due to huge demand from both national and internationals; Conmec – focused on construction equipment and Stonex & Ceramex - focused on bathrooms, flooring and ceramic products.
