Kobe is the capital city of Hyogo Prefecture in Japan. The city of Kobe is an important port city of Japan. The city is also known by the name Owada Anchorage. Kobe was one of the first cities to open for trade with the West following the end of the policy of seclusion and has since been known as a cosmopolitan port city. The city is Japan's fourth largest port. The city is of great economic importance to Japan and it houses Headquarters of some of Japan's big industries.
