Haneda is at 30 minute drive south of central Tokyo. The terminals are used
by Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways and their subsidiaries. Narita Airport
is the major airport serving the city of Yokohama and is located to the east
of Greater Tokyo.
Local Transportation of Yokohama:
Bus: The bus service of Yokohama is the most popular means of
transport for both the citizens as well as tourists. The buses that serve
the city are comfortable low floor buses and are specially designed to
facilitate physically challenged people as well. The buses are eco- friendly
in nature and run by CNG.
Metro: The Yokohama Metro system serves almost 440,000 passengers
per day by connecting the heart of the city to the sub-centers and other
districts. The metro efficiently covers four routes namely - Kannai,
Kamiooka, Shonandai, and Azamino.
Ferry: The Osanbashi International Passenger Terminal was opened in
2002 and is the hub for ferry system in the city.
Taxi: Taxis are available from all major parts of the city. The taxi
is an expensive but a a comfortable mode of transport in the city of
Yokohama.
