MEDICAL BIOLOGY: PROFOUND CHANGE UNDERWAY
The reform of medical biology in France is a major theme for the JIB 2011. It recognizes that the medicalization of the profession is an advance that encourages the co-operation of biologists with other health professionals for the benefit of the patient. The reform also requires all medial biology laboratories, both private and public, to be accredited. This requirement will favour a gradual restructuring of the network of medical biology laboratories found across France along the lines of multisite medical biology laboratories.
