ABOUT 1 Decembrie 1918 University of Alba Iulia

In conformity with the Government Decision No. 474/1991, the University December 1st 1918 comes into being, with the headquarters in Alba Iulia. It begins with: two long-term specializations and three short-term specializations. In 1992/1993, two additional specializations were assimilated, one in the domain of Philology and another one in Museum Science. In 1993/1994 the specialization Law was assimilated. With the issuance of the Law of Education, (84/95), we pass from the period of identifying and determinating the University's mission to a period of quantitative, qualitative and structural development. Beginning with 1998/1999, the credit system is introduced. In parallel, the University's resources are oriented towards furnishing and equipping the educational spaces according to the requests for normal functioning of the university, as well as the implementation of a coherent personnel policy.
