AACC is an international society comprised of medical professionals with an interest in clinical chemistry, clinical laboratory science, and laboratory medicine. Founded in 1948, the society has over 9,000 members and is headquartered in Washington, DC. AACC offers career information and accredited continuing education in clinical laboratory science using publications, meetings and distance learning technology. We also sponsor the Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry (COMACC), which is an independent non-profit organization that accredits training programs in clinical chemistry at the masters, doctoral, and postdoctoral levels.
