The history of American Society for Metals (ASM) International goes back to the year 1913 when the Steel Treaters Club, its precursor was established. ASM is an organization wholly committed to the cause of assisting the materials science and engineering industry. Boasting over of 36,000 members worldwide, the main office of this society is located in Ohio, USA and it is currently under the leadership of its President, Dr. Mark F. Smith and its Managing Director, Mr. Stanley C. Theobald. Aiming to promote and protect the material industry, it also looks after the worldwide materials community and its interests. In keeping with its mission, this association conducts various activities like publishing and organizing industry-related events. 'AeroMat', 'IBSC Conference and Exposition', 'ITSC' and 'MPMD' are some of the upcoming events of ASM.
