ABOUT Belize Tourism Industry Association

Starting its operations on 26th April, 1985, the Belize Tourism Industry Association is a tourism related organization that was founded by a group of tourism industry professionals led by Mrs. Jean Shaw with the aim to prepare a common ground for the industry to interact and to combat the emerging areas of challenges facing the sector. Also abbreviated as the BTIA, this organization is a large nonprofit organization that is headquartered in Belize, Central America and it is currently being led by its President, Mr. Jim Scott. Bringing together the private sector tourism enterprises from the region, this organization is driven by its objective to make constant efforts for development and to create a strong network within the sector. Having organized a number of events and conferences pertaining to this sector, this organization is about to organize its annual tradeshow, the Central American Travel Market.
