ABOUT Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Formed on 1st July, 1946 as the Communicable Disease Center, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also known as CDC, is a well known organization that is committed to preserve health and to enhance the quality of living by preventing and controlling the factors like disease, injury, and disability. Performing in this field since the past 6o years, this US based organization takes initiatives for mitigating the health and economic factors that causes death and disability for longevity and productivity of life in an average human being. Under the current leadership of Mr. Thomas R. Frieden, its Director, CDC aims to indulge in collaborative efforts in enhancing the health and welfare of its community. This organization is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. The CDC Public Health Grand Rounds and the annual CDC AEA Summer Evaluation Institute are two major initiatives of this organization.
