In resent twenty years, the important of research in comparative education has been generally recognized by highly developed countries in Europe and America. In view of the internal and external situation, the entire nation, in order to adhere to Chiang Kai--shek's teaching on self-reliance era of resurgence by re-creating, re-strengthening, re-progressing and re-innovating. Therefore, Prof. Pang-chen Sun and other educators took initiatives in organizing the Chinese Comparative Education Society (CCES) and undertook comparative research in other nations' education as a way to promote international understanding.
