CIM or the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum is a premier institute coming into existence by a statutory act of parliament. Established in 1898 as Canadian Mining Institute, it came to be known by its present name in the year 1990. Reputed as the best association of all professionals of mining and minerals industry, this organization is the representative body of government and the academic world that produces, discovers, utilizes and looks after minerals, metals and petroleum. CIM focuses on gaining of knowledge and exchanging them on a world wide perspective and also appreciates any achievement made in this field. This organization conducts many conferences s and award ceremonies throughout the year which act as great networking platform for all mining professionals.
