As a precursor of Competitive Telecommunications Association (COMPTEL), the Association of Long Distance Telephone Companies (ALTEL) was established in the year 1981 with the aim of promoting the communications service industry through trade shows, networking, education and various other programs. The main office of COMPTEL is located in Washington, D.C and it is currently being led by its Chairman, Mr. Joseph Ambersley and its CEO, Mr. Jerry James. The member base of this premier organization includes communications service providers and their supplier partners that are well-known in their field of action from across the country. Striving towards generating progress and growth in the industry by implementing many positive measures, COMPTEL also looks after the interests of its member community. 'COMPTEL PLUS Convention & EXPO' is the most popular industry event organized by this company on biennial basis.
