The Digital Curation Centre is the UK's leading hub of expertise in curating digital research data. Digital curation involves organizing and preserving digital information so that it may be available for future use. The DCC hosts a variety of conferences, workshops, lectures and other events throughout the year to help promote digital curation across the UK research community. DCC workshops combine case studies, presentations and/or interactive breakout sessions to explore some of the more complex issues affecting digital curators today. Its 5th International Digital Curation Conference, held in London in December 2009, was a great success, attracting 150 delegates from around the world. Its forthcoming series of workshops is targeted at members of specific professional groups, such as the RLUK, SCONUL, UCISA and UUK communities.
