ABOUT Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited

The Dubai Mercantile Exchange Ltd (DME) is a dynamic new venture that aims to become the premier energy and commodity futures exchange in the Middle East. The DME is uniquely positioned to provide price transparency and market liquidity for crude oil and petroleum products from the world's foremost oil producing and exporting region. The establishment of a freely traded energy futures market in Dubai will bridge the gap between business hours in the energy trading centres of London and the Far East. The launch of the DME will also strengthen Dubai's ties with the international financial and commodities trading communities. Initially, the DME plans to list the world's first physically delivered Middle East sour crude futures contract, the Oman Crude Oil Futures Contract. In 2007, the DME also plans to list a Middle East-based jet fuel futures contract. The DME is a 50/50 joint venture between the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc. (NYMEX) and Tatweer, a member of Dubai Holding.
