The Ente Autonomo Fiera del Levante was founded in 1930 by the Municipal Authorities, the Provincial Administration and the Chamber of Commerce of Bari and has continued its activities ever since. Its Board of Trustees comprises representatives from its founding Agencies, the relevant Ministries, the Regional Government, and Entrepreneurial, Economic and Labor Organizations. The first edition of the Fiera del Levante - The International Trade Show - took place in 1930. This International Exhibition has taken place every year with the sole exception of the Second World Wa from 1940 to 1946. The Fair grounds cover an overall area of 300 thousand square meters and host approximately twenty different events throughout the year - the Fiera del Levante, Agrilevante, Edil Levante and Expolevante have gained worldwide renown as international events.
