ABOUT Foundation For Professional Development

Formed in October 1997 by the South African Medical Association, the Foundation for Professional Development (FPD) is a private higher education institution focused on imparting knowledge and information for the betterment of the society. The main office of this organization is located in Pretoria, South Africa and it is currently operating under the leadership of its founder and Managing Director, Dr Gustaaf Wolvaardt. Committed to improving health conditions in Africa through education, research and capacity development, FPD strives to bring in competent professionals, workers and managers capable of providing quality services of global standards to the public in a cost efficient and evidence based manner. Having gained a fair reputation in its field of activity, FPD conducts several programs, workshops, seminars and conferences to further its mission. The Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in Africa Conference is one of its most noteworthy initiatives.
