ABOUT Handloom Export Promotion Council

Handloom Export Promotion Council is a body established by law under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India to promote the export of handloom products. It was formed in 1965 and it is headquartered in Chennai. The chairman of HEPC is Mr. Ramesh Kumar Chugh. The HEPC was incorporated with the aim of supporting and guiding the Indian Handloom Exporters and International Buyers for trade promotion and international marketing. Some of the other objectives are arranged for participation in trade fairs, exhibitions and buyer-seller meets in India and overseas, providing consultancy and support to handloom exporters, sending trade missions abroad and conducting market research in foreign countries. Some of the upcoming events where HEPC will be actively involved are Heimtextil and Domotex. In the recent past, it participated in Australia International Sourcing Fair and India Handicrafts & Gift Fair.
