ABOUT Homi Bhabha Centre For Science Education

HBCSE was founded in July 1974 as a constituent unit of TIFR, under grants-in-aid received from the Sir Dorabjee Tata Trust. Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education is a National Centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. Its goals are to promote equity and excellence in science and mathematics education from primary school to undergraduate college level, and encourage the growth of scientific literacy in the country. HBCSE has emerged as the premier institution in the country for research and development in science, technology and mathematics education. The Centre has 18 academic members, 26 members of scientific and technical staff provide support to the academic programmes. HBCSE is now a National Centre under the School of Natural Sciences of TIFR.
