ABOUT IEEE Technical Committee on Haptics

IEEE Technical Committee on Haptics, also known as TCH came into being in the year 2006 with the help of a collaborative effort between IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and IEEE Computer Society, the two eminent constituents of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, or the IEEE. As one of the leading bodies dedicated to the development of the haptics technology, this organization promotes and provides its assistance to the international research community dealing with a wide spectrum of interdisciplinary aspects of haptics technology, right from engineering to neurophysiology. The Chairperson of this organization is Marcia O Malley and it is considered to be one of the prime platforms that creates a convergence of the researchers and scientists dealing with haptics. World Haptics Conference is a past conference organized by this body while IEEE Haptics Symposium is an upcoming conference.
