INRA stands for French National Institute For Agricultural Research and is Europe’s premier institute for conducting high level research for healthy foods of the highest quality. It is also devoted to carry on research with a missionary zeal for cutting edge and sustainable agriculture with the aim of giving Europeans a more healthy and nutritious diet. The National Institute For Agricultural Research was established in the year 1946. Eventually, it became an authorized national scientific and technological corpus in 1984 under the joint control of Research and Agricultural Ministries. The underlying motive behind all its research is to explore and ameliorate knowledge of the domains of agriculture, food and nutrition and the environment in present day world. The fountainhead of the organization is the president guided by a board of directors. Dr. Marion Guillou is the current President of the INRA. INRA, as the largest institute in Europe for agricultural research has organized many events and conferences. It held a conference in Lyons titled Bio-Vision-The World Life Science Forum.
