ABOUT Joint Charleston Air Force Base

Charleston Air Force Base is a base of the United States Air Force situated in North Charleston, South Carolina. Established in the year 1931, Charleston Air Force Base or Charleston AFB started operating since 1941. Initially it was built to serve as the base for air depot training session, providing training to the people going on war. Now it is dedicated to the smooth running of the commercial and general operations of aircrafts in collaboration with the Charleston International Airport. Now Charleston AFB is also the Logistics, Transportation and Engineering centre for the American US Base. Having a historic participation in World War 2 and the Cold War, it is an important air base for the US army. Captained by the Air Force Colonel Martha Meeker it also organizes Air Shows every two years.
