NZ Marine Industry Association, also known MIA, is the major professional association for the marine sector in New Zealand and acts as the chief body for government advocacy. Consisting of more than 470 members representing the leading designers, builders, importers and marine sales and service companies and enterprises in the country, this organization aims to promote and preserve the interests of the marine industry sector and to ensure its constant development while also being committed to the welfare of its member community. Being steered by its President, Mr. Ian Cook and its Executive Director, Mr. Peter Busfield, this association is headquartered in Auckland. In keeping with its spirit, MIA organizes many events and exhibitions, the New Zealand Marine Industry Conference and the Auckland International Boat Show being two highly acclaimed events in its category.
