Founded in 1969 State-wide professional association, The School Library Association of Queensland is provides its members an opportunity to connect students .IT gives an opportunity to its students for learning through a variety of literacy. It facilitates share ideas and knowledge and to work collaboratively with educational professionals. SLAQ is the acronym for the School Library Association of Queensland through commitment to the development of students as lifelong learners the association provides an opportunity for its members to work cooperatively within their educational settings. Advocate the critical role of teacher-librarians in schools in Queensland and to provide information to members becomes the key objective of the association. Professional development for librarians is its key focus. Other professional associations and relevant community groups encourage and reinforce relationships more strongly.
