ABOUT Section On Pediatrics Of The American Physical Therapy Association

The Section on Pediatrics of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is dedicated towards providing a quality life to all children, people with developmental disabilities and their corresponding families so that they are in turn able to support the person. The Section in particular represents pediatric physical therapy and pushes its members to work for the children from birth to the age of 21 years with or at risk for movement dysfunction. The Section also puts forward its concerns for the betterment of the role of pediatric physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. The section has more than 5,000 dedicated members who work determinedly to improve the lives of such children and their families on a daily basis. These children receive physical therapy services in a variety of ways, including the home, school, daycare, hospital, outpatient centers, and rehabilitation hospitals.
