Society of Exploration Geophysicists or SEG is a non profitable organization in Tulsa, U.S.A. which works towards the promotion of Geophysics among the students and aspiring scientists. SEG was founded in 1930 in the U.S. by a group of thirty men and women who observed the need to open a society to study and understand the petroleum technology. In 1958 SEG Foundation was established which works towards promoting this field of science by organizing workshops, conferences and seminars for students and professionals. It also awards scholarships to deserving students who are studying Geophysics. The 3rd Balkan Geophysics Congress and Exhibition, Subsalt Exploration and Development, SAGA, Spring Symposium and the SEG Annual Meeting are some of the workshops and seminars organized by the Society.
