ABOUT UK Centre for Bioscience, Higher Education Academy

The Centre for Bioscience was formed in 2000, and is one of 24 discipline-specific Subject Centers established to recognize many issues are specific to individual disciplines and are inadequately covered by cross-disciplinary agencies. The Subject Centers are an essential element of the Higher Education Academy and are known collectively as the Subject Network. The Centre for Bioscience supports a large network of learning and teaching practitioners involved in HE bioscience throughout the UK. It provides funding, events, resources and a large number of opportunities to network with bioscience learning and teaching practitioners from a variety of institutions and roles. It initiates, gathers and disseminates examples of good practice in learning, teaching and assessment which have been developed and successfully implemented by bioscientists across the UK.
