The University of Oslo is located in the Norwegian capital of Oslo. It was formerly known as The Royal Frederick University and it is the oldest and the largest university in Norway. It has been ranked among the top 100 universities of the world and is the most prestigious university of Northern Europe. It was established in the year 1811 and was named after King Fredrick of Denmark and Norway, but later on it was renamed with its new name in the year 1939.
