Alcons Audio at PALM Expo 2012

Dutch audio systems leader Alcons showcased its Pro-Ribbon technology, unique products and exciting marketing initiatives at India's biggest audio industry event
At this year's PALM Expo, Alcons India reached out to a wide audience of audio experts and enthusiasts with something discerning sound engineers, venue operators and audio consultants in the country have already experienced: superior sound.

This was Alcons second stint at the event, and its first as Alcons India Pvt Ltd, having set up in India in a big way over the past year with prestigious installs for clients like Blue Frog Mumbai and offices in Mumbai and Bangalore.

This time, Alcons highlighted top-flight products such as the QR36 line-source column and the LR7 micro pro-ribbon line-array. Both products deliver superior undistorted clarity at both low as well as high SPL's. and superior throw. Alcons also demonstrated the low SPL qualities of the VR8 and BF151 systems, generating considerable interest among PALM Expo attendees.

Alcons Audio co-owner Tom Back was on hand to deliver a special seminar on the pro-ribbon technology that drives Alcons superior sound. Pro-ribbon technology allows for a fast transient response and accurate sound reproduction, required by today's new high-resolution media. The high attendance at this seminar testified the keen interest the Indian audience shows in new and upcoming audio technology.

The Alcons team also drove buzz around their presence with innovative marketing initiatives. These included a QR code based initiative that helped people connect with Alcons online presence and live tweeting of the event using hashtags AlconsAudio and PALM Expo 2012. Alcons also announced the launch of a first of its kind online community for the Indian audio industry, Ribbontalk.in which saw enthusiastic sign-ups by visitors to PALM Expo.

All in all, PALM Expo was an excellent showcase for Alcons, with Tom Back noting that It's great to see what the Alcons Audio India team has achieved in a relative short period of time. The professional show attendance is a clear indicator of the potential we see in the Indian market, while JP Douma, CEO of Alcons India noted that The show attracted a very high calibre of visitors and it was exciting to see their high interest levels in our seminar and our technology.
