Business Overview
Being a major seaport, Lisbon is today the major commercial center and
wealthiest region in Portugal. Further being the center of countrys
transportation network and home to the largest international airport of
the nation, the capital city is the ideal venue for international

The international exhibition center of Lisbon attracts many business
visitors every year who participate in various international trade shows
and fairs including Horexpo, TEKTONICA and Intercasa.
Where the Metropolitan Area of the city is heavily industrialized, most

Feira Internacional de Lisboa (FIL, Lisbon International
Exhibition Center):
Latest exhibition and conference center of Lisbon, Feira Internacional
de Lisboa consists of three auditoriums for 500 people each, four
meeting rooms and four exhibition halls with 10,200m2 of space.
The center is located at the former Expo98 at Park of Nations
organizing fairs and events of national and international scope and
promoting exchange of experiences.
The nearby Arts VIP Executive and Tryp Oriente hotels provide
luxurious accommodation for thousands of delegates who attend the
various events in the center every year.
Euronext Lisbon:
Euronext is the Lisbon Stock Exchange, which is part of the
pan-European Euronext system together with the stock exchanges of
Amsterdam, Brussels & Paris.
It was formed in 2002 when the shares of Bolsa de Valores de Lisboa e
Porto (BVLP) were acquired by Euronext N.V. whereas, the BVLP, the
Portuguese exchange, was formed in 1990s restructuring the Lisbon Stock
Exchange association and the Porto Derivatives Exchange Association.
Euronext Lisbon trades equities, public & private bonds,
participation bonds, warrants, corporate warrants, investment trust
units and exchange traded funds. The official index of the exchange is
General index, which includes all listed shares on the official market.
Major Commercial Areas
Parque das Nacoes (Park of Nations or Nations Park):
The bustling business and leisure area of Lisbon, the Park of Nations
is the former Expo98 site fabulously located on the riverbank of Tejo
(Tagus). The office towers in the area have become very popular for
establishing new businesses and commerce.
The park boasts the worlds second-largest Oceanarium, a
water-sports center, a 145m high Vasco da Gama Tower (Lisbons
tallest building, to be transformed into a hotel), a cable car, a
30-lane bowling hall, a science & technology center, a shopping mall
along with dozens of bars.
Designed for all manners of public events, the Atlantic Pavilion is a
highly successful venue for concerts, fairs and other functions
including 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards.
