Aluminium China

On July 13, 2011, the seventh edition of Aluminium China, organized by Reed Exhibitions China, one of the country's top producers of industry-defining trade events, opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC). A total of 420 exhibitors from all over the world took part in the three-day event. This year's Aluminium China was the number one event in Asia for the industry, attracting a record high attendance of 11,282 visitors from 83 countries and regions, a 25% jump from the previous edition. Of the visitors, 1,244 were international - 76% more than last year.

Alongside the complete aluminium industry supply chain, Aluminium China was collocated, for the first time ever, with Industrial Materials China: a parallel show featuring copper, magnesium, green processing methods and composites. This created numerous synergetic opportunities for industry professionals looking for diversified solutions to satisfied all their demands under one roof. The bold move to host two shows in one boosted Aluminium China's standing. It also signified a bold move by Reed Exhibitions China to create Asia's leading materials sourcing platform.

Chen Quanxun, President of the China Non-Ferrous Metals Industry Association remarked, "The beginning of the '12th Five-Year Plan' will drive the development of China's materials industry. Through this show, Reed Exhibitions China has delivered an invaluable platform on which international aluminium executives can exchange ideas and conduct business face-to-face. Aluminium China 2011 was the industry's largest event ever to be held in Asia. As such, it is crucial to the sustainable development of materials manufacturing in China and across Asia."

In addition to exhibition booths and numerous networking opportunities, the concurrently held technical seminars, forums and wide array of themed activities were another key aspect of the exhibition. They represented ideal opportunities for visitors to learn about the latest developments and technical advances across various segments. The second edition of the SAE Asia Congress also highlighted new changes in materials solutions for light-weight and new-energy automotives. It featured the overwhelmingly positive trends in emerging application segments of non-ferrous materials.

Edwin Tan, Vice President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China, noted, "With the successful integration of other non-ferrous metals into the Aluminium China portfolio, we are excellently positioned to give industry professionals the ultimate platform on which to trade, learn and network. This event is an all-in-one solution for them to find out about emerging solutions and discover new ideas. We're not satisfied with Aluminium China merely being the largest trade event of its kind in Asia; we also want to continue to develop the show by exploring new segments with great potential. This progressive attitude will be key in helping us stay on top of the materials manufacturing business."
The next edition of Aluminium China and Industrial Materials China will take place from June 6 to 8, 2012, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
