Big appearance: Stuttgart with its own stand at IMEX 2011

06 April 2011 - The ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart will be represented this year at the Stuttgart destination stand at IMEX in Frankfurt, the world's largest trade fair for the incentive travel, meeting and event industry. Together with the Convention Bureau Stuttgart and further partners, the ICS will be promoting Stuttgart from 24 - 26 May at the IMEX 2011 at stand G150 within the Germany stand as a great location for congresses and conventions. The ICS will also be making an appearance as a member of the "Seven Centers of Germany" cooperation.

Approximately 3,500 exhibitors and 8,500 buyers from over 150 countries will be coming to the award-winning trade fair. Stuttgart has already made an excellent name for itself as a congress and convention destination, which will certainly be reflected at this year's IMEX: For the first time, there will be a separate area dedicated to presenting all that the state capital has to offer."With our new destination stand, there is an even greater focus on Stuttgart as a location," explains Head of ICS, Stefan Lohnert. "And it certainly has plenty to offer." The "Seven Centers of Germany" will also be enjoying a stronger presence at this year's IMEX. Thanks to the close collaboration with the GCB German Convention Bureau, organiser of the Germany stand, the cooperation has, for the first time, been provided with its own exclusive area in the GCB partner lounge. However, this partnership between the largest German congress centres with direct connection to a trade fair site (to which Stuttgart's ICS also belongs) not only bears national fruit. Germany has also been able to further build on its position as the leading location for congresses and conventions in Europe.

Taking environmental action and finding sustainable solutions will be an important part of IMEX 2011. Themes which are indispensible for companies who wish to remain competitive on today's market. Not a problem for the ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart. "The ICS is a company leading the way in the congress and convention industry when it comes to environmental awareness," explains Stefan Lohnert. "We set ourselves ambitious ecological standards and strived to implement innovative technologies right from the very start. And it has paid off in the long run." Solar panels on the roof of the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre and the ICS generate around 4.32 million kilowatt hours of energy each year. This is enough to supply 1,350 four-person households. Rain water is guided via pipes to a flood detention basin located nearby and the public transport connections are superb - to give just a few examples. All of these measures have been compiled in our "Green Statement", an ecological manual about the environmental awareness promoted at the ICS.

The ICS International Congress Centre Stuttgart is one of the largest and most modern of its kind in Germany. The variable room/space concept creates extremely varied and flexible utilisation options for a wide range of events. The congress room with 2669 square metres can be divided into up to four rooms. The multifunctional congress and exhibition hall with 4933 square metres accommodates up to 5000 guests and can also be divided into segments by a partition wall.
