The Indian Scenario
The second edition of SFAL Expo 2008 will be an end-to-end showcase for the sports industry, providing a trade platform for sports raw materials, goods, equipment, apparel, and accessories manufacturers. Concurrent to the comprehensive sports trade showcase will be a trade platform converging the fitness and health & wellness industries. The forthcoming edition of the fair will be unprecedented in scope: The consolidated trade platform for the sports industry will showcase material, printing ink, and machinery suppliers; and sports goods and equipment manufacturers. The alternative and parallel trade showcase will provide a platform for adventure sports equipment and service providers; fitness equipment and accessory manufacturers; leisure and wellness product and service providers. With India set to enter the select League of Nations to have played host to the Commonweath Games by the year 2010, EIPL has chosen both, an opportune and propitious time, to highlight India's burgeoning prowess in the international area of sports goods and infrastructure, fitness equipment, active leisure, and health and wellness. The recently concluded inaugural edition - SFAL Expo 2007, was widely recognised as the country's most appropriate forum servicing the goods and equipment manufacturers, as well as servicing as a platform for the explosive health foods and dietary supplements industry. Convergence of fitness and health & wellness The converging field of fitness and health and wellness is one that holds much promise, as increasingly, the urban-dweller is discovering the importance of an active lifestyle. With the rise in consumerism, and the concurrent rise in leisure time and disposable income, the allied trade platform – Leisure India 2008 – will enrich SFAL 2008. This trend is no more apparent than in the fitness equipment sector, as active people purchase affordable modes of fitness and health equipment, weight training equipment for their homes and for health clubs. Consumers are becoming increasingly demanding from their fitness products - sophisticated design, lighter and stronger materials, new and expanded features, and better finish quality, etc. |
