I would like to extend a warm welcome to all exhibitors and visitors to the 14th edition of the SE-Asian Healthcare Show. It is only fitting that Malaysia at the heart of the Southeast Asian Region is also the host nation to the region’s largest exhibition for the healthcare industry.

Today, Malaysia is the world’s leading producer of medical disposable products and fast developing as a major manufacturer of hospital equipment, diagnostics and laboratory fittings. It has also made solid inroads in the hospital services and management sectors and even secured international contracts.

Therefore, this exhibition is definitely an excellent opportunity for our healthcare organisations to secure new export markets, while benefiting from the advantage of exhibiting on home ground.

At the same time, Malaysia has succeeded in establishing itself as a destination for quality and affordable medical tourism. The increasing numbers of patients seeking treatment in Malaysia are also driving factors in new construction and upgrading of private health facilities. This will provide new opportunities for manufacturers and service providers in the industry.
I also understand from the organizers that they have steadily increased the regional visitor exposure over the years. And the next event will see importers from Laos, Cambodia and Timor Leste. This is definitely in line with the government’s policy to establish Kuala Lumpur as a major international destination for meetings.
