Business Overview
Colombo is a rapidly growing city of the world. The city of Colombo houses
headquarters of several national and international corporations have their
head offices in Colombo. Chemical industry is also largely developed in the
city. The other major industries in the city are textiles, cement and
jewelry. The World trade center is the major commercial center of Colombo.
The Pettah near the Fort is another commercial and business hub of Colombo.
The Pettah has a large number of shopping streets and is a world famous
shopping destination.

Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre (SLECC) is a major event venue
in Sri Lanka. The Sri lanka exhibition and convention centre is located in
Colombo. SLECC is the multipurpose and a flexible event venue. It is also
the most spacious event venue in Sri Lanka. The venue is located at the
center of Colombo and is easily accessible from all major modes of
transport. All the major hotels and important sites of Colombo can be easily
reached from the convention center.
The venue is fully air conditioned and covers an approximate area of 4,000
sq.m. (Approximately 40,000 sq.ft). The venue is an idle place for
Exhibitions, Conventions, Product Launches, Award Ceremonies,
Meetings/Get-togethers, Musical concerts, Weddings, etc. The venue is
equipped with facilities like uninterrupted Power supply, telephone
connections in stalls, Air conditioning, Standby generator, carpeting,
security and cleaning services and Wi Fi.
Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall:
Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall is a multipurpose
conference venue in Colombo. The hall covers an area of around 38 acres and
houses four main buildings. The hall is a premier venue of Sri Lanka and
hosts several conventions throughout the year. The hall is located at a
central position in the city and is accessible by all major modes of
transport. Numerous five star hotels, shopping centers and markets are
located near the hall.

Pettah shopping district:
Pettah is a major shopping district in Colombo. The Pettah is recognized
with busy and bustling streets. The Pettah has a large monument known as the
Khan Clock erected in 1923 in the memory of Grandee Franjee Bhikkajee Khan.
You can find hundreds of shops and street stalls which offer an amazing
range of goods at the most incredible bargains.
The place is crowded with shops selling bright printed fabrics, suitings,
footwear, handbags, children's wear, semi precious jewelry, watches to
electrical goods, rare first edition books, cutlery, spices, fruits and
vegetables, dried fish, paraffin, batteries and other household items. The
place has several streets with each street selling a particular item. Some
famous streets of Pettah are the Keyzer Street which is famous for household
goods and Prince Street which is famous for glass, mirrors and electrical
items. The Pettah is a noisy crowded place which is worth a visit. The place
is not only a shoppers paradise but a sightseeing destination as well.
WTC Colombo:
The World Trade Center in Sri Lanka is located at the Echelon Square in
Colombo. The center is equipped with numerous infrastructural and other
facilities. The WTC offers a variety of dream office spaces and have been
designed by international architects and consultants. The World Trade Center
building is located in the heart of Colombo's Central Business and Finance
District.
The WTC is also easily accessible from the bus and train stations. The
distance between the Colombo International Airport and WTC is merely 32 Km.
There are also several shopping malls and restaurants located within the
proximity of WTC. The twin towers of WTC- Colombo are is also the tallest
building of South Asia.
