The Sharjah World Book Fair is a gift for all book lovers.In this age of laptops, i pads and other digital devices, this event aims to promote and encourage the habit of book reading by providing a common platform to various publishers to display their collection of titles to what is now becoming a niche segment. Books in a number of languages are made available at this fair with main focus on Arabic and Islamic books, law books and books for children. The promotion of Sharjah as the Cultural Capital of the Arab World by UNESCO in 1998 was a direct recognition of the wise leadership and tireless efforts by His Highness The Ruler of Sharjah in cultural affairs.
