Overview
Located on northern most tip of the island Taiwan, Taipei is Capital City
of the country. Valley of the Danshui River, its a bustling commerce,
political and education center of Taiwan. This frenetic and energetic
capital is also the most populous city on the island.
Originated as a small trading port over two 200 years ago, Taipei has shown
a tremendous growth over past few decades. Once a sleepy city with lowland
fields, today the modern Taipei shines with its glass and steel skyscrapers.
This farmland turned metropolis has significantly developed itself over past
few decades and therefore considered one of the most costly cities in Asia.
Popular for its excellent food and lively night markets, Taipei also offers
several areas of spectacular natural beauty, numerous international
exhibition grounds, markets, hotels, museums, parks and theatres.
