The city of Chiang Mai is the capital of Chiang Mai Province in Thailand. The city is located on the side of the Ping river, a major tributary of the Chao Phraya river. The city of Chiang Mai is one of the most important cultural city of Thailand. Chiang Mai has become an increasingly modern city in recent years.
