Transportation & Reach
Transportation plays a vital role in Dubai's economy. Hundreds and
thousands visits Dubai every year either for tourism or for business
purposes, therefore the city ought to have an efficient and convenient
transportation network.
Being one of the most important cities of the country, Dubai is both
nationally and internationally well connected.
Dubai Airports:

airlines, the airport has won numerous awards for its excellence in
design and services. It has three terminals catering both national and
international flights and is located 5 km (3 miles) southeast of the
City Center. Dubai's open sky policy makes this airport one of the
busiest in Middle East.

Central International Airport, the airport is 40 km from Dubai
International Airport adjacent to Jebel Ali Port and Jebel Ali Free
Zone. Though most of the parts of the airport is still under
construction as is expected to complete in 2008.

Buses and Taxis mostly govern the local and public transportation network
of Dubai. The authority governing most of this network is Roads and
Transport Authority (RTA).

used means of public transport within the Emirate. There are both
government-operated and private cab companies.
- Passenger Ferries: The Abra is a traditional
means of water transport across the creek linking Deira and Bur Dubai
districts. It was and is still, used as a mode of transportation in the
