Transportation & Reach
Sharjah Airport:
- Sharjah International Airport (SHJ): The Airport is 10km (6
miles) from the city. Due to proximity with the important cities like
Dubai and Abu Dhabi, Sharjah can also be operated through:
- Abu Dhabi (AUH): Located 32km (20 miles) east of the city.
- Dubai (DXB): Located 5km (3 miles) southeast of the city.
- Ras al-Khaimah (RKT): Located is 15km (9 miles) from the
city.
Local Transportation of Sharjah:
The visitors generally have to rely on taxis or on their own wheels to go
around the city, as there is no public transport in Sharjah.
The
taxis in Sharjah don’t have meters though several new companies now
operate metered taxis.
Hotels & Accommodation
Sharjah has been a major Middle East tourist destination since 1932;
therefore, tourists visiting the city do not have to go far to get what they
want.
Hotels and Furnished Apartments providing wide range of facilities and
services for business travelers as well as tourists are dotted around the
city. There are also many beach resort hotels located mainly along Al Khan
beach and Khor Fakkan.
