Hotels & Transport in Las Vegas

Transportation & Reach
Transportation options in Las Vegas are numerous and varied. From renting a vintage to hopping on a city bus, taking a cab or riding the Las Vegas Monorail, the transportation network of the city is one of the most modern in the world.

The classic and probably the most apt way to roam around Vegas is in a car (preferably a Red Shark of a car) or on a Greyhound bus. Though you can also travel by rail but eventually you'll end up on a bus anyway, as trains only reach as far as California and Arizona.

Las Vegas Airports:
McCarran International Airport (LAS). Located at the southern end of the Strip, about 8km south of downtown. It serves the travelers from other US cities, Canada and Europe. Besides providing commercial flights it also serves private aircraft, domestic and freight/cargo flights. Although general aviation traffic flies into McCarran International, other airstrips are also available.

Railway Transportation of Las Vegas:
There is no train service to Las Vegas, but you can travel from Needles, California, Kingsman, Arizona, and Barstow by Union Pacific Railroad (UP) and connect to Las Vegas by Greyhound bus. It is the only class one railroad to provide rail freight service to the city.

  • Greyhound Bus Services. It provides services between Las Vegas and Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Phoenix and Arizona.
  • Green Tortoise Service. It offers a low-budget, communal bus experience between Las Vegas and major cities on the West Coast.
