Miami has a very well developed transportation system. Miami has several flights to major cities in the world. Miami can easily be reached from all parts of USA. The city is well connected by road and railways. Miami's ever increasing population has been a major cause for the increased traffic congestion in the city. However the authorities are taking important steps to make the city's transportation system more efficient and convenient.

Miami Airports:
Miami International Airport is one of the busiest airports not only in Miami but in the whole world, is the main airport serving the Miami metropolitan area. Miami International is the United States’ third largest international port of entry for foreign air passengers. The airport has flights to major international cities in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
The other airports serving the city are:

  • Kendall-Tamiami Airport


Miami Railway Transportation:
The Amtrak's Silver Service connects Miami from New York (city), Washington and other cities. Trains also connect Miami to West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Fort Lauderdale Airport.

Local Transportation of Miami:
Buses: The city is very well connected by buses. The buses are often crowded but offer a cheaper travel. The city has both private and public bus operators.

Trains: Metrorail is a single-line rail system. The railway system is not highly developed but serves all a major tourist destinations of Miami. The two main stations of the Metrorail are at the Government Center in the central business district and at Brickell Station in Brickell.

Other: Taxis and Cabs are the most comfortable means of getting around in the city. Taxis are available outside all major transit stations, airports and tourist destinations. The Taxis are usually expensive but are quick and comfortable.
