The city of Orlando is named after a soldier of the Seminole War, Orlando
Reeves However, The first settler in Orlando was Aaron Jernigan who was
cattleman. Orlando became the seat of Orange County in 1856. The city of
Orlando was prominently a village where the major occupation was cattle
grazing and Farming. Orlando suffered a lot during the American civil war.
The city was incorporated as a town on July 31, 1875. Orlando was
incorporated as a city in 1885.
The city of Orlando was in a Golden Era between 1875 to 1895. The city
became a center of citrus industry during this period. Orlando real estate
industry registered a rapid growth in 1920s. The Orlando Army Air Base
served as a strategic location during world war II. Several army men
who were stationed here became the permanent residents of the area. The Walt
Disney World was opened in October 1971. This is regarded as one of the most
important developments in the economy of the city till date. Today Orlando
is ranked as one of the top tourist attractions of the world. Th city has

operated by Busch Entertainment Corporation.
The 'Shark Encounter' is the most popular adventure ride of the park. In
this ride the people are carried through a submerged acrylic tube into the
sharks' tank. The 'Wild Arctic' provides a unique experience of being with
the Arctic polar bears, Pacific walruses, and beluga whales. The Penguin
Encounter is another major attraction of the Sea World.

Universal Orlando Resort:
Universal Orlando Resort is a popular theme park resort owned by the NBC
Universal and the Blackstone Group. The resort is second largest resort in
Orlando and was opened on June 7, 1990.
